ROYAL SELANGOR CLUB

The Tourism Industry Networking Session & KLTA 60th Annual General Meeting

The Tourism Industry Networking Session, held on 30th July 2025 at the Royal Selangor Club, Dataran Merdeka, brought together over 200 tourism industry players from both government and private sectors under the theme “Together for a Stronger Tourism Future.”

Organised by the Kuala Lumpur Tourism Association (KLTA) with strong support from Tourism Malaysia, the event underscored the importance of unity and collaboration in strengthening Kuala Lumpur’s position as a world-class tourism destination in preparation for Visit Malaysia Year 2026.

The session was also graced by Mohd Amirul Rizal Abdul Rahim, Senior Director of the Advertising and Digital Division and Head of Secretariat for VM2026, Tourism Malaysia, who expressed his continued support and encouragement to industry players in driving the nation’s tourism growth.

In his address, KLTA President Syed Azhar Syed Nadzir highlighted that the industry’s true strength lies in working together — a reflection of Kuala Lumpur’s ongoing commitment to building a safe, sustainable, and vibrant tourism ecosystem.

In conjunction with this networking event, KLTA’s 60th Annual General Meeting (AGM) was also held on the same day, attended by Exco members and association representatives. The AGM concluded at 1.30 PM, marked with a symbolic cake-cutting ceremony to commemorate this milestone occasion.

About KLTA

The Kuala Lumpur Tourism Association (KLTA) is the oldest tourism industry association in the country. Established in 1963, the KLTA represented most of the industry players in the country at the time. This was because Kuala Lumpur was the main hub of tourism activity in the then newly formed Malaysia. Over the years the industry has grown and developed in all corners of our nation, necessitating more nationalized organizations to meet the requirements of the nationwide industry players.
